AQUATICS
From time to time we offer highly specialized classes for a small fee. These classes are goal oriented and time sensitive. They run from 2 to 6 weeks and often fill up quickly. Read below to see some of the options that may be coming to you soon. Check our calendar often for what’s coming up. Or click here to request an email when a new class comes out. You can also speak to the listed instructor any time to find out when they are thinking of doing the next class.
Tuolumne County Aquatics Masters swimming classes are open to all adults ages 19 to 99 who are interested in swimming for fitness. The program is offered year-round and provides a coached swimming workout. Each practice divides swimmers into 10 different lanes based on ability so that all levels of swimmers can be accommodated from the very beginner swimmer to the serious competitive swimmer.
Swimmers are taught the correct way to swim the free, back, breast, and fly strokes. No experience or expertise is necessary; we love to welcome first time swimmers of all ages!
Swim meets and open water swims are also aspects of the program, but to attendance is optional. It is a fun, social, friendly environment that provides a great workout. There are many practice times available each week. One is sure to fit into your schedule.
Swimmers may join at any time throughout the year. If you feel you’d like to join masters but it sounds daunting we also offer private swim lessons as well as an introductory class called Masters 101 (see below).
Tuolumne County Aquatics Age Group Swimming
Year-round, coached swimming for ages 5-25
The Tuolumne County Aquatics Age Group swim team is a year-round program that is open to all youth who are able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards). Swimmers on the team range in age from five to their early twenties.
The swimmers will learn the four competitive strokes (free, back, breast, and fly), plus turns and starts. The practices are primarily stroke oriented with conditioning and endurance developed with regular attendance. Swimmers gradually begin competing in mini meets held at our pool, then travel to more competitive meets in the valley and bay area.
Swimmers must try out for the team. Registration occurs year round based on the swimmer’s age and ability.

Have you always wanted to try masters swimming but have been too intimidated by the “piranhas” in the pool? Masters 101 is the class for you.
Masters 101 is a four week course with workouts three days per week. You will be introduced to the four competitive strokes, turns, and starts. You will also learn how to read the pace clock, understand interval training, and learn the vocabulary associated with the sport of swimming so that if you decide to join Masters it will all feel very familiar.
The class moves at a slower pace than a Masters Swim workout and focuses on stroke improvement, conditioning and endurance. No experience is necessary, only the desire to exercise through swimming. The class is open to all interested adults and we would especially like to encourage our senior population to try this class. We guarantee that all who enroll will become better swimmers!
Enrollment limited to 10 participants. Sign up in the Adult Center to ensure your spot. All forms must be completed and paid for at time of enrollment.
Please see our aquatic calendar for upcoming sessions or sign up to receive an email about our Masters classes.
*Includes two weeks free with the Masters at the conclusion of the class.
