Want a class where you can strengthen your core, legs, biceps, abs, shoulders, and oblique abdominals?  Want a workout that will leave you breathing hard and keep you coming back? Introducing… Boxing Conditioning with personal trainer Brie Newton.  Punch, squat, jump, crunch, jab, and gasp your way through a total body workout!  This class will teach you the 3 basic punches (Straight Shots, Hooks, and Upper Cuts) as well as some defensive slips and ducks.  Using typical boxing conditioning tools you will be amazed at the improvement in just a few weeks in your jump roping skills, push ups, and your hitting power.  Every class begins with the jump rope and ends with abs with a strong dose of bag work, partner drills and shadow boxing in the middle.  Don’t miss this next time it comes around.

Half Dome Conditioning & Hike

If you have ever wanted to climb half dome but haven’t made the time or were nervous about your fitness level, wait no longer, this is the class for you.  Even if you’ve climbed Half Dome many times in the past Tim Gallagher will make this your best hike yet. Best of all, Sonora Sports & Fitness Center makes the trip easy by providing the pre-hike training and conditioning, transportation, park entrance fees, a post hike barbeque and refreshments.  All you have to do bring is your desire to reach the top!

Kettlebells are traditional Russian cast iron weights that looks like a cannon ball with a handle.  Kettlebells offer all-around fitness by incorporating a series of repetitive movements that provide cardiovascular training, develop strength and flexibility, help prevent injury to your back, knees and shoulders.  This class gives you a low-impact, power-filled, strength-building workout.  You’ll see a noticeable change in your body in six short weeks.  The Russian kettlebell can replace a lot of gym hardware you may be used to using: barbells, dumbbells, belts for weighted pullups and dips, thick bars, lever bars, medicine balls, grip devices, and cardio equipment. Kettlebells are used by all types of athletes from football players, cyclists, power lifters, ballerinas, swimmers, and more. So whether you are an athlete looking to improve performance, or if you are simply looking for a way to spice up your workout, Kettlebells are for you!

Ski Conditioning

Get your ski legs back!

This class is held each year beginning in the fall! Get your ski legs back before the snow falls. Reduce your chance of injury on the slopes this year by starting the season with strong legs, gluts, core and cardiovascular fitness.  Dee Clifton uses a variety of fun equipment and a lot of body weight exercises to make sure you can hit the slopes safely each winter.  You’ll feel a noticeable difference in how your season starts if you make sure to take this class each fall.
